About the village
Eype is an attractive village on the coast to the west of Bridport and is an excellent place for walking. The dog friendly beach at Eype’s Mouth is on the South West Coast Path and there are many other footpaths in the area. Eype is in a stunning location to explore the World Heritage Jurassic Coast for the keen rambler, ornithologist, anthropologist and geologist.
Explore its beautiful coastal and countryside walks, try fossil hunting on the beaches, or paragliding, golfing, and river boating further along the coastline. The Cottage is ideally situated to tour the whole of Dorset and the many attractions the county has to offer, including the seaside town of West Bay, markets in Bridport and National Trust properties.
Eating out in Eype
The New Inn Pub and Eype’s Mouth Hotel (both under 5 minutes walk from the cottage) serve bar and restaurant food. Down House Farm Tearooms at Higher Eype offer cream teas and light meals set in the beautiful surroundings of 500 acres of National Trust Land. There are small shops open in season all with in walking distance. Nearest supermarket is Morrison's in Bridport, one mile away.
